Service Description
Adolescence can be a challenging stage for both dogs and their guardians. Hormones, brain development, and changing confidence levels can make it feel like your training has gone backwards — and that’s completely normal. These outdoor adolescent classes are designed to support you through this phase, helping you strengthen your bond and guide your dog into confident, reliable adulthood. Classes focus on real-life skills in real-world environments. We build on the foundations your dog already has, reinforcing focus, engagement, and cue training while gently supporting confidence and emotional resilience. Working outdoors allows dogs to practise around everyday distractions in a calm, structured, and low-pressure way. These classes are open to any friendly adolescent dog, not just dogs who have trained with me before. They are ideal for: Dogs who missed out on puppy classes Dogs who are new to your home Dogs who need a refresher on essential life skills Dogs who are slightly under-confident and benefit from structured exposure Guardians looking to build connection, confidence, and focus Dogs and owners who want to train together, meet others, and enjoy learning in a supportive environment This is a cue-based training class, using only kind, force-free, reward-based methods. Sessions are designed to be practical, supportive, and enjoyable — helping your dog learn to stay calm, engaged, and responsive even when there are more exciting things happening around them. These classes are suitable for friendly dogs who are comfortable around other dogs and people and are looking to continue their training journey in a positive, confidence-building way.

If the course is full, you may join the waiting list and we’ll contact you if a space becomes available. Vaccinations & Health: All dogs must be up-to-date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments. If your dog is unwell (vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, etc.), please do not attend and contact me to discuss options. Equipment: A detailed list of required equipment will be provided in a handout before the course, including what to bring each week. As a minimum, dogs should have a harness, flat collar, short lead (no extendables), and a long line is recommended. Behaviour & Suitability: Dogs must be comfortable around other dogs, people, children, and common outdoor distractions such as bikes. Dogs who bark excessively at people or dogs in walks or at home should be discussed with me before booking. Attendance & Missed Classes: Missing two or more classes may prevent continuation in the course. Missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be carried over, but handouts and guidance will be provided where possible.
